BURNLEY AND PRESTON BOOK LAUNCH

UMRA DIARIESSat 19th May 2012

A moving account of physical and spiritual journeys'. The talk is about religion, racism, special schools, attitudes and prejudices, identity and most importantly, how we as people relate to each other.

This presentation will address the life and influences of Malcolm X and his journey to Pilgrimage alongside the story of Balal who is blind and Ricardo who uses a wheel chair. Together with their teacher, Abdul Aziz, they perform the pilgrimage to Makkah. Their story is a moving account of their journey as individual disabled people, and the need to encourage inclusion within our communities.

The event and BOOK LAUNCH also aims to connect with the wider community, voluntary and statutory organisations involved with disabled people.

Those who have an interest in disability will be interested in the human aspect of the story rather than the religious.

Copies of the book will be available and sold at £6.00 per copy.

Limited seating at both venues – Sign language interpreter will be provided at both venues.

Free Admission
To reserve your place email booking@loveEtiquette.com or sms/call 07870 100 590 with details of your name and number of seats you would like to book.
