WINTER ARTS RETREAT

Islamic Art in Granada, Spain 22 - 28 December
Winter Arts Retreat

FINAL CALL. Payment and registration must be received before midnight 28 Nov.

Artists and visitors will live on site at the beautiful Alqueria de Rosales, learn hands-on techniques of traditional calligraphy, arabesque patterns, ceramics and handcraft with a fantastic line up of UK and Spanish artists. Be inspired through tradition, design and a rich history of Andalusian heritage.

Applications are welcome from people of all backgrounds and abilities.

THE HARBOUR

Art and Mental Health
The HarbourDec 2014

Artist Adam Williamson has been working with mental health service users across Lancashire to explore advanced care through nature, geometry and sculpture.

An original series comprising ten sets of 3D mounted and framed sculptural artworks are scheduled to be installed in the brand new state of the art unit on the Fylde Coast. The pieces are all designed using tessellating patterns, which are built away from the surface creating an undulating sculptural relief.

Artists DJ Woody and Best Joined Up will work with high risk offenders to learn, share and produce high quality graffiti art and music. Working with internationally talented artists this program aims to change the way we perceive offenders and how we can help them settle back into society.

Best Joined Up is an independent creative agency and social enterprise that gathers together the leading lights in Illustration, Aerosol/Street Art, Design and Animation from across the U.K to their Art Events, Exhibitions and Workshops.
DJ Woody is a prolific DJ and turntablist born in Burnley, Lancashire UK.Started DJing in 1992 but made his name through the dj competition circuit when in 2001 when he was the first European DJ to win the ITF (International Turntablist Federation) World championship title in San Francisco, a year later he won the Vestax World title.

Featuring a multi-talented line up of artists that cover Soul, Reggae, Hip Hop, Indie, Rock, Spoken Word, Tabla, Sitar and Nasheed.

This promises to be a fantastic afternoon promoting diverse culture and community through inspirational lyrics and music.
